What We Collect
When you use bring4oback.online, we collect only what is necessary to operate the petition, stories, and vote features:
- Petition signatures: Your first name, last name, and an optional personal message. Your email address is hashed (SHA-256) before storage — we never store your actual email.
- Stories: The display name you provide (or "Anonymous") and your story text.
- Votes: Your yes/no choice.
- Anti-abuse data: A browser fingerprint hash and a hashed version of your IP address, used solely to prevent spam and duplicate submissions. These are one-way hashes — we cannot reverse them to identify you.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not use cookies or third-party analytics.
- We do not store plaintext email addresses or IP addresses.
- We do not track you across other websites.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any data.
How Data Is Stored
All data is stored in a MySQL database on our hosting provider (Namecheap). Sensitive identifiers (email, IP) are stored only as irreversible SHA-256 hashes.
Third-Party Services
- Google Fonts: We load fonts from Google Fonts, which may log standard web request data (IP address, browser type). See Google Fonts Privacy.
Your Rights
Since we do not store your email or IP in plaintext, we cannot look up your specific submission. If you have concerns, contact us and we will do our best to help.
